Google Ready To provide Free Turn-By-Turn Navigation On The iPhone

Few days ago Google announced turn-by-turn navigation for Android Users in UK threatening the future of companies like Garmin and TomTom . Later Google confirmed in a press conference that it’s planning to bring free turn by turn navigation to other smart phones like iPhone.

The free navigation system is available as a free upgrade to Android users. The Google maps developers say users don’t need to save maps on their device but are downloaded on demand while planning a route , so an active data connection is required while the Start and end destination setup process , later gmaps can continue working without requirement data connection as long as user stays on the same route .

I hope Google is providing an excellent piece of software for free , but its definitely going to create an imbalance in the market by pushing out commercial navigation providers as well as iPhone developers like TomTom and Garmin. Lets see if Apple approves this innovative iPhone development from Google on its store and slits its own throat .
