Apple’s urges to get iOS4 apps on App store through emails to iPhone developers

Have you gone through the email Apple sent yesterday , if not for the knowledge of iPhone app developers , Apple has emailed all iPhone application developers to let them know that they are now accepting apps compatible with iOS 4 in the App store . Before the new OS hits the market Apple wants apps to be in the App store.

The new iOS has the ability for third party apps to run in background due to the newly added multitasking support. Actually it was considered that iPhone 4 would support the multitasking feature and run apps in background but the key is the iOS 4 which is used in the iPhone 4 and also can provide these facilities in the IPhone 3GS and iPod touch.

The in-built apps can multitask at the moment while other apps cannot as third party apps need to be integrated with multitasking support through the new API’s iOS brings in for multitasking. This is the reason why Apple has emailed iPhone developers to make necessary changes to their apps so that they are iOS4 ready.

IPhone developers can start submitting these iOS 4 compatible apps now. And as a iPhone developer it’s not hard enough to make these changes. Most of the apps from iPhone developers are running on the demo units supplied by Apple at WDDC keynote.

But not all iPhone developers considered it as good news, because when Apple takes the initiative to send such mails to developers its being selfish of getting the apps on store for the new gadget and ignores the old ones like the OS 3.2. As we had seen in case of the iPad launch . It has also been seen by few iPhone application developers that the approval time has already been extended compared to normal time meant for any app to approve.
