After the iPhone4 was announced at the WWDC 2010 , all the iPhone were pre-ordered . Apple knew they would have a big hit with iPhone4, but currently Apple is having difficulty in procuring enough touch screen displays to meet demand for the smartphone, according to analyst Ashok Kumar at Rodman & Renshaw Inc.
Apple logged more than 600,000 early orders for the iPhone 4 in a single day this week, this is a record, and has imposed strain on computer systems and prompting carrier AT&T Inc. to suspend sales of the device before its June 24 debut. In Japan, Softbank Corp. suspended advance sales of the iPhone as demand threatened to exceed supply.
Currently iPhone4 and iPad screens are built by LG Display Co. , LG has been into these production problems in past related to Apple’s iPad tablet computer earlier this year where the company delayed the iPad’s international debut by a month after selling 500,000 devices in a week
The display production bottleneck has limited the total number of iPhones it can ship monthly, where the previous estimate stood at 4 million units, and is now cut to half the amount. But this a serious disappointment for the users and iPhone developers who had already ordered their iPhone4 in pre-orders and are still waiting , this is also affecting iPhone app development , the iPhone apps which have already arrived the App Store are still awaiting user reviews , I think Apple needs to do something about its iPhone production and distribution .
Have you ordered your iPhone yet ? When do you expect it to come to you?
